Who are you?

Human identity is very interesting.

There are many influencers on social media, all of whom are human beings with unique identities and characteristics. I have spent pretty much all of my life neglecting the human being that I am in favor of focusing on my interests, desires, and operating as a machine who obliges to the expectations of family, friends, and society. Not everyone is very opinionated, but I am going to make this blog post a quick reflection on the beliefs of humans from my perspective as a young human. I sometimes hate and dislike people, and I still do from time to time. My reasons for doing so stem only from the behavior of a person, a person’s character and decision making. Whether or not a person chooses to harm someone else, indirectly or directly, is an important thing I consider when judging a person.

Beyond adopting, rejecting, or mixing your cultural values and traditions, attraction and gender identity are interesting to learn about. If you put your head out of the idea of creating AGI for one second, it might be interesting to decouple the messy feelings of attraction into say sexual and romantic in a split attraction model. We could also dive further into different attractions like physical, emotional, aesthetic, etc. I think it’s important to at least consider this framework of looking at things, just as we learn about different emotions as constructions of mind to label and recognize feelings. Of course in addition to, while others use their job and responsibilities to describe themselves (i.e. mathematician, child rearer, ornithologist, etc.). Do you want to create a legacy? Do you want to have children? Do you want to make a name for yourself in a career or field of study? Pursue your passions, but I implore you to at least try to be ethical and moral. I do not expect everyone to be a saint, untouched by bad decision making, but especially, do not use someone else maliciously for your personal gain. Do not harbor hate for those who have not wronged you. Sure, hate those who have wronged you, if you can withstand it not eating away at your soul. Wrong them back? Well, talk it over with different people and do what you will.

The Other

It makes me very sad to see hate towards people for reasons that are stupid, and it makes me even more mad to see it being acted upon. Wake the fuck up and use any of your damn neurons and sensory capabilities as a human being to know when you are wronging someone. Make your mistakes, and learn in order to stop being ignorant. It is one thing to be informed and make your decisions and stand your ground, even if other people don’t agree with you, it is another to do nothing and remain ignorant. If you are different, do not allow yourselves to be convinced that you have no value. You matter and you deserve love. Stand up, band together, and fight for what all human beings deserve – an opportunity to thrive without the need to push others down.

I will always advocate for kindness and love. Reject hate and discrimination. For the not too sociable nerds, please, for the love of god, find some human beings who you can connect with that are good people. Challenge traditional ideas and systems and structures. Be critical about ideas, they may solely exist in the realm of human construction to be pulled from the infinite ether of the universe, but they can and will be weaponized to cause harm.

For some people, they assimilate well into their cultural and societal circumstances. They might possibly adapt the main ideas and beliefs as well, good or bad. I encourage you if you feel this is your case, to talk to an “outsider” and see what their life is like. Be safe and don’t make stupid decisions.
